Catching up...finally!

As you can tell, I am a bit behind with my blog (hmmmm, by like 9 months!), so I'm trying to get caught up before little Olive makes her way into the world in 7 weeks! I think to get everything posted that I want to, I will have to cut down on the writing and just get the pictures up (that's the main thing people want to see anyways, right? ;) Thanks for your patience!

A Chat-town Thanksgiving with Houston and Philly family!

Tobi, Joyce and Luke visited us for Luke's first Thanksgiving! We were so excited to finally meet baby Lukie, as O affectionately calls him, and watch the two cousins interact. We are hoping that Luke and Owen (not the Wilson brothers ;) develop a strong relationship through the years like their daddies did, and Binoy too-who also came to visit! I love how Roby and his cousins are such a close-knit group. I also appreciate that they make me feel like part of the family too, and Joyce is like a sister to me!

We spent a lot of time chilling out together, playing Chinese checkers, eating yummo food, the guys playing Madden (of course), with a little bit of sight-seeing mixed in.

Coolidge park

Whenever we have visitors, we usually take them downtown to Coolidge Park, overlooking the Tennessee River. There are fantastic views, particularly in Fall, and the kids love the carousel, fountains and space to run free. We decided to do a photo shoot with Owen and Luke, which proved challenging with Owen not wanting to sit still and Luke just learning to sit up! We still were able to get some cute shots of the little cousins and some great family shots too!

Rock City

One of the largest tourist campaigns I have ever witnessed is put on by Rock City. Barns all along route 75 sport large white letters urging "See Rock City," which is located on top of Lookout Mountain. On a clear day, you can view seven states from Rock City. During Christmas time, they set up light displays along the trails. We decided to check it out, and enjoyed it as much as we could while freezing our bums off! (Yes, that's Luke in his first dramatic role, playing the part of baby Jesus ;)

Owen's second birthday!

Owen turned two on October 12th! For his second birthday party, I decided on an ocean theme since O is still obsessed with all things sea creature-ish and loves visiting the aquarium often. I, of course, had it in my head that I needed to be Martha Stewart-like yet again and make the cake and cupcakes, and although we were up until 4:00 in the morning adding finishing touches, everything turned out perfectly! Owen loved having his little friends surrounding him and seemed to enjoy eating all the goodies too!
